Parcel collection from your door, compared

Book a courier to collect from home or work, and see what each one charges for the privilege before you commit. Collection is available on most services. Any collection fee is shown in the quote, not bolted on at checkout.

How collection works

Three steps, from two postcodes to a driver at your door

Tick one box on the quote form and every price you see comes with a courier who will come to you.

If nobody will be in, most carriers let you leave the parcel in a safe place named at booking. The driver scans it in the same way and tracking starts from that point.

Tick the collection box

Tick the collection box on the quote form and we will only show services that include door to door pickup.

Choose, pay and print

Choose your service, pay, and print the label. It lands in your inbox as a PDF seconds after you book.

The driver comes to you

A driver arrives in the window you selected, scans the parcel and takes it from there.

Collection or drop off

The one decision that moves the price

This is the single biggest cost decision on a small parcel, and the right answer depends on your day rather than on a rule.

Collection makes sense when

  • The parcel is heavy or awkward and you would rather not carry it
  • You are sending several parcels at once
  • There is no parcel shop or locker near you
  • Your time is worth more than the fee
Compare collection services

Drop off makes sense when

  • The parcel is small enough to carry
  • A shop, Post Office or locker is on a route you already walk or drive
  • You want the latest possible cut off, which drop off usually gives you
  • You are watching every penny, because drop off is included in the quote

Timing

Collection windows and what they mean

The window on offer is shown against each service in your results. If a narrow window matters, filter for it before you compare on price.

A working day windowMost carriers offer a working day window rather than an hour.
A one hour windowSome offer a one hour window by text or email on the morning of collection.
A timed slotA few offer a timed slot for a fee.

Label flat, barcode clear

Attach the label flat on the largest face, with no tape across the barcode.

Cover old labels

Remove or cover any old labels and barcodes from a reused box.

Parcel by the door

Have the parcel by the door before the window opens.

Keep your reference

Keep the booking reference somewhere you can find it.

Before the driver arrives

Getting the parcel ready

Four small things that keep a collection on track, so the driver scans it first time and tracking starts the moment it leaves you.

If something slips

If the driver does not arrive

Collections are missed occasionally. Most carriers will re-attempt the next working day automatically. If it happens twice, message us and a real person will chase the depot, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm GMT. Not a bot, not an outsourced helpdesk.

  • Automatic re-attempt the next working day on most carriers
  • A real person chases the depot if it slips twice
  • Cancel before collection and you are refunded in full

Questions

Collection questions

The things senders ask before booking a pickup. Anything else, just ask.

Still stuck? Our UK team replies in minutes.
Can a courier collect from my address?
Yes. Tick the collection box on the quote form and we will only show services that include door to door pickup. Availability depends on your postcode and the carrier.
How much does parcel collection cost?
It varies by carrier and route, and on some services it is included at no extra cost. Whatever it is, the collection fee is shown in the quote before you pay.
What time will the courier arrive?
Most carriers give a working day window rather than a fixed time. Some send a one hour window by text or email on the morning of collection. The window on offer is shown against each service.
What if I am not in when the driver comes?
Most carriers let you name a safe place at booking. If nobody is in and no safe place is set, the carrier will normally re-attempt the next working day.
Can I book a collection for several parcels at once?
Yes. Book each parcel and choose the same collection date, and most carriers will take them all in one visit. Business accounts can upload up to 200 parcels at once by CSV.
